Explored this Arlington Park getting an upgrade to a natural area park.
I started to notice this same fungi across the county on Juniperus virginiana (Eastern Red Cedar) anywhere lower branches have been trimmed. That info helped me to find the ID. Very little is available online, but googling images and this site seemed to fit best: mushroomobserver.org/130160
What is this? It’s on a vacant lot that’s going to be paved over soon. @sambiology ?
Native to west Texas, Arizona, Utah, southwestern New Mexico, and southern California, this tree is often used in landscapes and has several horticultural varieties. Based on this information, I think that it is possibly a cultivated tree.
