These were growing in the grass in the middle of a Eucalyptus grove. Their stature was similar to Agaricus augustus, but more squat (see second image with my cell phone, a Samsung Galaxy S7 edge, for scale). They did not readily stain when handled. The younger mushrooms had a reddish tinge, and the oldest ones had a yellowish tinge. I could not lift them out of the ground, because they were on State Park property. Last image in this set, courtesy of Mike Potts, is of the same fruiting 4 days prior, 1/31/2017. It shows the smooth stipe.

Found growing gregariously on deadwood at the base of a ridge in a dense mixed hardwood forest (with some pines). Northwest Georgia (Gordon County), US.
Pore surface: Dirty pink. Seems more “bumpy” than “pored.” See the photo below.
Stipe: none
Upper surface: Semicircular with some wavy edges. Salmon to light brown (leather) colored with blackening near attachment points.
Notes: These were bulky, dense fungi. They were quite thick near the attachment points and tapered dramatically towards the edge.
