We took a hike down to Marshall's Beach in the Presidio. It was really, really windy, but we were setting out to look for insects, reptiles, and some plants. I added reptiles to my list to really try out trips and make myself focus and as I was taking a photo of an iris, I saw a garter snake (no photo) and an alligator lizard in the same spot! Then D found a green hairstreak on our way back up the hill.

you didn't see any Lupines? I feel like yellow bush lupine and 'that silvery blue one' are all over the place here
I have seen them there before, but I didn't see any. There was lots over ivy and marah overgrowth, especially at the top of the trail.
