Bioblitz awards update

If you don't already know, we will be giving out awards for a few different categories. One of which will be "most points." The way we will calculate that is one observation will be worth 1 point, but observations within Steele Creek Park will be worth double. So come on down to Steele Creek Park and start observing. There are just a few days left to participate. Don't forget to register on https://bristoltn.recdesk.com/Community/Program to be eligible to receive awards.

Five vertebrate groups

Of the five vertebrate groups, fish and amphibians have not been recorded yet in this bioblitz. Those would be something good to target for these last couple of days of the bioblitz. Today's rain will make it a perfect day to look for amphibs. We would also like to see a user record all five groups of vertebrates (mammals, reptiles, birds, amphibians, fish). So far that has not been done.

Awards

Congratulations to Melanie Kelley for winning "most points, species, and observations" and Heather Hendrix and Bailey Hopkins for winning "most interesting observations" with their observations and great photos of Hearts-a-bustin and Oblique-lined Tiger Beetle. We greatly appreciate everyone's participation and for making this first virtual Wildlife Weekend a great event. We look forward to doing it again next year.

All of our nature videos for this year's Wildlife Weekend are still online at bristoltn.org/wildlifeweekend if you haven't had a chance to check them out yet.
