San Diego City BioBlitz 2018
This is the first year that San Diego will be participating in the City Nature Challenge. This event is the third instalment of an international competition between cities around the globe. Each city will be vying for most participants, species, and observations. This is a great opportunity to record the spread of invasive species in our city and participate in a fun competition.
Who: Anyone with an iNaturalist account
When: April 27th - 30th
Where: Anywhere in the San Diego City limmits
Why? For fun and for science!

Is it necessary to join a project in order to participate? Alternatively, should I just submit observations as I have done in the past and iNaturalist will figure out that the observation was in San Diego?
I was wondering the same thing, and I think, that if there is a project created by the time you are adding your records, you can put them in the project. If not, then don't worry about it
Looks like they have created an official project now.
