Data Quality

Thanks to all who have submitted observations to the project so far!

Below is just a quick note on how to best submit observations to our page to ensure data quality and clarity:

Before submitting observations, make sure that you are a member of our project 'Harper Park Stewardship Initiative', so that all observations are easily visible and accessible in one place. When submitting, make sure to tag the project and include all necessary details to ensure your observation can be validated and is of research grade quality. This includes the location coordinates that the observation was made, date and time, at least one photo of the observation, and notes/descriptions of what you saw.

Observations that meet the criteria of research grade are automatically transferred from iNaturalist to GBIF (Global Biodiversity Information Facility; www.gbif.org), where they will be stored and available for free to the public. This is incentive for us to ensure we are consistently recording high quality data, so that species records within Harper Park will be safely recorded and available in the future.

All the best and enjoy your time with nature!

Alex
