For those of you who have never visited the western United States the Western fence lizard is an abundant reptile and one I encountered a lot while doing one of my first field jobs in California. This name is a reference to an inside joke my coworker and I had. One day I may change my profile to reflect a more serious ecologist, but for now this is one of the few outlets I have for goofiness.
