Lifelong birder from Sagadahoc County, Maine, bird artist and bird photographer. I’m fascinated with pretty much all aspects of birding, including birding by ear, understanding the different plumages and molts of birds, as well as anatomy and the feather topography/groups, rarity-chasing, state listing, etc etc. No detail is left unexplored! I am most experienced with birds found in eastern North America, but my knowledge of species in other parts is expanding.
I especially love shorebirds🦩(<—we can just pretend that’s a Marbled Godwit, OK?) seabirds🤢 and warblers🐥(<— that’s a Prothonotary Warbler).

I’m also fascinated with Lepidoptera 🦋(especially moths), Leaf-miners🌿, CETACEANS,🐋 (AND IDENTIFYING THEM AT THE SURFACE) and vernal pool life. I hope to learn more about the Tiger Beetles (Cicindelinae) in Maine as well, and hope to expand my knowledge of the many galls in Maine (especially oak galls).

I have written for several birding newsletters and publications, received multiple scholarships to attend birding and nature camps/programs, and have some upcoming articles in the American Birding Association’s magazine and website. I have a strong interest in bird/nature illustration, and designed a logo for Matt Young of Cornell’s Finch Research Network and have been a finalist in the ABA’s Young Birder of the Year contest.

Feel free to tag me for help with any bird IDs in New England or eastern North America (songs and calls too)

I also have an interest in “birding” by radar, as well as visible migration. Here’s what I use for radar: www.rap.ucar.edu/weather/radar.
If you have an interest in irruptive winter finches, check out https://finchnetwork.org. It's an incredible resource!
