My partner (Paul Whitington) and I live in a patch of dry sclerophyll forest in south-eastern Australia. By observing and recording animal and plant species and their interactions we are building our knowledge of the local ecology. Invertebrates are a particular passion, but every native species is fair game for our cameras and curiosity.

We try to identify our sightings before uploading – in part because we learn more that way, and also to encourage assistance from iNats contributors who specialise in particular taxa. We are very open to suggestions and corrections.

In addition to sharing species sightings on iNats, we record stories and information on our home website:

Note: As of August, 2020, Paul and I are uploading past sightings from our shared collection. We have divided the task, largely by taxa. Many of these sightings have previously been loaded on NatureMapr (and therefore also ALA). From August 2020, all new sightings will be added to iNaturalists.
