I am a Landscape Architecture student at LSU in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I've been fascinated by nature since I started catching and identifying insects in preschool. Now I am especially interested in the rare Louisiana and Texas Coastal Prairie habitats and the plants and animals that live in them. At Ascension Episcopal School in Youngsville, I worked with the Cajun Prairie Habitat Preservation Society and the UL Ecology Center to restore three acres of Louisiana Coastal Prairie (Cajun Prairie) habitat and make a prairie-themed butterfly garden to spark enthusiasm for the virtually gone habitat that once covered over 2.5 million acres of the state. On iNaturalist, I started a project titled 'Biodiversity of the Cajun Prairie and Texas Coastal Prairie' in which people can post observations of plants and animals they encounter in remnant or restored Cajun Prairie or Texas Coastal Prairie habitats.
