I got a PhD in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at Univ. La Sapienza of Rome / Univ. Parma, after which I worked as temporary contract researcher at Univ. Tuscia - Viterbo, University of East Anglia in Norwich (UK) and ICRAM (a not longer existing public marine-biology research institute) in Rome. In those years i've worked on evolution and population biology, using molecular markers, in butterflies (namely genus Papilio), wild orchids, edgehogs, moles and several fish species, both farmed and wild, always in research groups with much wider taxomomic span of interests. I took part in several sample-collecting "expeditions" in Mediterranean areas (and Antartica!).
I end up as park ranger at Marturanum Regional Park (Latium), where I presently work and live.
