Male Osprey on lookout while female is on mat. Notice a second nest within 200’ of each other. Ideal habitat provides excellent Osprey nesting opportunities along the Albemarle Sound. I believe the region might support The densest population in the southeast US. I’ve documented active nests on Edenton Bay occupied within 120’ and 8 active nests along a 3/4-mile stretch of shoreline.
