Here's an insect called a Leafhopper. It's on the leaf of a Sunflower in our yard. I had never heard of them before, but I guess they are common. It's about the size of a grain of rice.
I really liked the colours and the Superman cress on it's back!
According to Wikipedia: A leafhopper is the common name for any species from the family Cicadellidae. These minute insects, colloquially known as hoppers, are plant feeders that suck plant sap from grass, shrubs, or trees. Their hind legs are modified for jumping, and are covered with hairs that facilitate the spreading of a secretion over their bodies that acts as a water repellent and carrier of pheromones.

The soldier beetles (Cantharidae) are relatively soft-bodied, straight-sided beetles. They are cosmopolitan in distribution. One of the first described species has a color pattern reminiscent of the red coats of early British soldiers, hence the common name. They are also known commonly as leatherwings because of their soft elytra! Per Wikipedia
