Additional comments? - Sighted yesterday. Flew to the ground whilst another one landed in a tree nearby. It flew off a few seconds after I took the photos of it. I don't think it realised I was there when it landed on the grass so it was probably a bit scared when it looked up and saw I was so close.

Additional comments? - Sighted on Andrews Walk, Adelaide, SA. The first time I saw an ibis (today) it was walking around, but later on I saw one being followed and harrassed by a noisy miner. Noisy miners are such bullies towards larger birds, such as cockatoos and herons.

Additional comments? - Sorry about the bad photo quality, these birds are very small and quite fast. They did not stick around for very long, and flew off almost as soon as they saw/heard me approaching. There was a lot of gumnuts, twigs and bark underneath my feet so it was hard to keep quiet.

Additional comments? - I have no idea what species of bird this is. I've heard their call many times before, which is an ear-piercing shriek. I believe I have seen the same species of bird many times before as well. The photo with the grey sky is a screenshot of a photo I took on the 9th of June this year. I believe that they are the same species of bird since both times those birds were spotted, I heard the same call. On the 9th of June, there were two birds, circling the sky. Today the bird I saw circled the sky for a little bit, then began a very fast descent on about a 23* angle (about that). I completely understand if you cannot identify this species as the photos do not convey much detail. Your time and efforts are much appreciated! :) (Once again, the location may not be 100% accurate. Sorry for any inconvinence.) And before I forget, the picture of the quarry is where the bird (of prey I'm assuming) was sighted. I took the photo on Snapchat and then screenshotted it as it would not let me submit it after download. Thanks again :-)

What
Coala (Phascolarctos cinereus)Observador
princecharlesDescrição
Field Notes - My brother, his friend heard this weird noise (I'm not sure how to describe it) and saw an adult koala trying to climb up a tree that another koala was already in. The koala above the intruder started to climb down the tree and continued to make the weird noise until the intruder lumbered off to another tree. My brother, his friend and I walked a little closer to the tree and when looking through the branches, I saw a young koala. I was so excited, it was the cutest thing in the world. I'm assuming that the (female?) koala was protecting its baby and tree from the other koala, who was probably a male.
When walking down the hill, I spotted another adult koala resting.
Once again, the location may not be 100% accurate.

Field Notes - My brother and his friend said that they had seen multiple other kangaroos, but during the time they went looking for me, they'd all bounded off but one. The kangaroo that I photographed was lying on its side then stood up. It bounded off into a shadier area since it was quite warm today. I was a but disappointed about only seeing one kangaroo, but at the same time I'm grateful that I got to see one. Also, the location is a bit of an estimate.

Additional comments? - Two sulphur crested cockatoos. They were being harrassed a little bit by some noisy miners. I was in my bedroom when I heard a cockatoo squawking. It sounded very close to our house, so I looked out of the window in confusment (since they never came close) and saw a cockatoo flying and landing in a tree on the otherside of the fence. There happened to be two birds, each in seperate trees. The bird in the tree closest to me stayed where it was for what seemed like ages until it flew off into the other tree where the second cockatoo was. The noisy miners continued to screech at them but. The second cockatoo soon flew off and landed in another tree. I could not see it from where I was. The first cockatoo stayed in that tree for what again seemed like ages and then it finally flew off. I was really happy since I'd never been that close before to a wild cockatoo.

Field Notes - This bird was found at Monarto today whilst I was on a school excursion to experience bird-banding. It was quite interesting to see all the different birds that they caught in the nets they had set up. The people weighed all the birds and fed some of them. This was with BioR and I think it was at Frahns Farm.
