Cutie with antennae-like tufts. I’m guessing at the species as am not sure what this is as haven’t seen a caterpillar quite like it before.

Planted urban specimen, but it struck me to see the flowers as I usually spot hawthorns in the fall by their fruit.

Likely planted in the park. My 5 year old noticed the seed pods looked different from what we usually see on trees around here so we decided to look it up.

Fun searching for empty shells with the 5 year old. We met a nice older lady from Vietnam who said back when she was a girl and still lived there, they got by foraging for snails like these and eating them.

This little one was so small I’m not sure if the species. Found stranded up on the beach and not looking too healthy, so we tossed it back into deeper waters.

Saw a few of these little guys basking in the sun during a birding walk with a local group. They really seemed to like hanging out in the brambles (though the blackberry brambles are invasive, some species seem to like them).
