This fern was found near a wet and shaded swamp area at lettuce lake park by an alligator at 80 degrees Fahrenheit. It contained many leafy branches, which looked like feathers and the leaves were narrow and small containing no flowers. Each frond was about 1 feet long. Description

This ant was found at University of South Florida on a rainy day at 57 degrees (F). The ant was found under the fallen leaves and appeared to have a redish brown body and a black abdomen, and it was about 2mm long. The main characteristic of a red imported fire ant is its red to brown body and darker abdomen. Description

This organism was found washed up near Clearwater beach at 80(F) on the rocks near the shore. They appeared to be bright green in color and had a jelly-like feel to them. They also looked like lettuce. Each one varied in length, however they appeared to be thin. Description

The organism was taken from University of South Florida’s castor beach. The green organism appeared to have a unique shape, it had 2 or 3 pointy tails which could be the flagella. The organism was observed under a 400x total magnification and appeared to be very small. Description

This spider was in the patio on a concealed wall at 85 degrees Fahrenheit on a sunny day. It was a light brown color but had darker spots on it. It’s size was about 6mm long including its legs. Characteristics of the common house spider include that they are yellow to brown, and their legs are yellow to brown with darker rings. This tree was found in a moist habitat at 80 degrees F at lettuce lake park. It was about 50 feet tall and it’s trunk was fairly narrow and there appeared to be lichen on it. It’s leaves were small, green and long. This tree was found at 5:24PM and it was approximately 80 degrees Fahrenheit. It was found in lettuce lake park. It was about 50 feet tall and its habitat was warm and moist. Their leaves are red and orange during the autumn, and that’s when their fruit and flowers appear. However during spring their fruits were found abundant under the trees and had a spiky gum ball brown surface about 1 inch long. This photo was taken at lettuce lake park on a cloudy afternoon. It was about 69 degrees Fahrenheit. This little fella was spotted sitting next to an alligator. It appeared to have yellow spots and was later found swimming in Hillsborough river. The turtle was about a foot long. The characteristic that identifies a common slider include its yellow belly and yellow striped face.
