Observações de krechols13

Thought this was a Polemonium in the field, but the ID algorithm says it's a waterleaf, specifically Hydrophyllum appendiculatum.

I got a decent look at this little guy enough to be sure it was a parula, but BOY he did not want to take his face out from behind that leaf for photos. He was singing incessantly.

These teeny-tiny white flowers were aaaaaall over the place along this trail. Taking the genus suggestion from the ID algorithm.

This tiny baby salamander was one of 6 that I and my parents saw in a very shallow stream next to the trail. Each one was barely 1 inch long.

Caught by an NKU field researcher, who said it was a Cope's Gray Treefrog.

This poor bee got stuck in a trap meant for frogs and was half drowned. I picked her up and put her on a flower to rest and dry off.

Found these things growing at the end of woody stems about 3 feet tall and thought they were some bizarre type of flower. Thank you, Rosie, for educating me about the growth cycle of hickories. :)
