I am looking for an ID. I think these are leaf beetle larvae. It looks as though these larvae are protecting themselves by piling their feces on their backs like tortoise beetles. Although, these cant be tortoise beetles, can they? Anyone have any ideas? The plant is common milkweed, asclepias syriaca. Thanks.

Not sure of what is happening here. Are those white spots under the treehopper eggs? Not the first time I have seen this. The ant here did not seem to be most interested in honeydew - more so the white spots. Help appreciated.
