Didn’t see any others immediately nearby except for a few very little baby trees. CalFire has done some small prescribed burns/clearing in the last few years, but I don’t know the history of when/why the other trunk was cut.

The picture with the underside is from a few weeks ago, when this tree first made me do a double take.
The acorn is definitely from this tree — I accidentally knocked it off the branch when I tried to photograph it :( There were quite a few old leaves on the ground, but I’ll keep tabs on this guy as the seasons progress.
