Adding it again just to show you can find beautiful wildflowers in the city as well!
What
Género LotusObservador
dakhlaroversDescrição
Three Lotus species are described around Dakhla, of which two have yellow flowers: L. jolyi in the proximity of Imlili and L. assakensis described north-east of the city. Sadly, the photo doesn't help much as leaves are hardly visible.

Have been waiting for these very kids for a couple of years - understandably, they come up regularly always in the same spot but the wholy cylce doesn't last long and may be easy to miss.

Plants on different grounds and spots react differently to the same rains - enjoy this carpet of Colchicum gramineum, over four months after the first ones came out just a few km away (https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/161771359)

Apologies for the photo out of focus. It was about 4 cm wide. Didn't last long - few days later it was also gone (probably eaten by dromedaries).

First time we spotted it in the area, chopped off just a few days later by dromedaries :-)
(Photo #2 was taken on Feb 26, showing the same specimen just before it was eaten)

Género FrankeniaObservador

I would dare to say F. capitata, but I'm not sure it has ever been recorded in this part of the world. The Frankenia species described for Imlili is F. corymbosa.
