Description

Land snails observed clinging to the trunk and limbs of several cultivated peach trees, growing in the bottomland along the San Gabriel River near Circleville TX. The snails were large (some over 1” in diameter). Some were striped, some brown, and some almost white. All snails in photos were alive. I’ve never encountered such snails in Texas before, so am wondering whether they are invasive or introduced. In some cases, dozens of the snails were clinging to a single peach tree trunk.
