The tree is alive at the base but dead at the top. The bark also seems to be stripped off at the top where it is dead. Over 4 feet tall and there are no other bays in the immediate surrounding area. Does it have a disease or is it not getting enough water? If someone could please give me some insight into this, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Descrição

Two live doug-fir saplings about 4 feet away from an oak and only 20' away from the other sapling. The other sapling probably didn't survive because it was so close to the trunk whereas these did because they were able to get more nutrients and sunlight.
