Photos of entire plant are seen in an observation for same park listed as C. canescens subsp. disjuncta. Widest leaves around 4mm. Keyed with SE Flora/Weakley, Godfrey & Wooten, & Radford, Ahles, & Bell. Perigynia beaks not serrulate. All measurements made with Shinwa .5mm ruler & fit this species.
Sorry for crummy inflorescence photo, but it helps show the “horizontally diverging/reflexed” nature of the perigynia.

Very compressed inflorescences w/ 35+ spikelets; no leaves in excess of 4.5-5mm; cespitose habit. Keyed with SE Flora & Godfrey & Wooten. Significantly large nodes, as per illustration in Tiner from 1993. In flower right now. I’ve seen this species in flower near Garden City, SC (Fall of 2022), & now, near Edisto River. Both were on private property.
