Looked so much like a ton of horse hair hanging from a tree, I had to take a picture. Bunches hanging were about 7 inches long. Blackish-greenish in color. Hanging from a pine, next to Paulina Lake in Oregon.

3 redwoods and 3 feet away from each other in a triangle. All about 12 inches in diameter. Light covering of moss (barely visible). Not much foliage until 30 feet up.
