need help: how can I convert large .mov files to .wav for audio observations?

I make audio observations by recording video with my camera and then converting those .mov files to .wav using cloudconvert.com. However, that only allows conversion of files not exceeding 100mb, and I have quite a few files that are larger than this and I don't know what to do with them. Does anybody know of a trusted program/website I can use to convert these files? I tried using VLC which can convert .mov to .mp3 , but that results in a tremendous loss of quality on the recording and the resulting files are simply not good enough to upload. And I know there are probably better ways to record audio in the field that would bypass this problem, but that doesn't do anything for the many recordings I already have.

Any help at all would be very appreciated!

You can try Audacity. I use that to convert all of my camera's movies into sound files.

First, if you haven't already, you'll need to download the LAME and FFmpeg libraries. This will tell you how:
https://mikebeach.org/2012/11/26/install-lame-and-ffmpeg-libraries-for-audacity-in-windows/
Then you need to go to File>Import>Audio and select the file you want. Then, after editing, go to File>Export.
Let me know if you need any more help.

https://www.dvdvideosoft.com/free-dvd-video-software-download.htm - "free audio converter", stable work without payment, I prefer it for all directional batch converting.
You can reconfigure any predefined conversion profile.
Only discrete steps for mp3 and not less 24kbps (speech, but 32kbps - usually just minimally acceptable)

So you want to convert mov to wav without sound quality loss.
I have a economical solution. Instead of using a converter, use a audio capture called TunesKit Audio Capture. Just record the mov video with TunesKit Audio Capture and save it into wav files. Since this software can record audio without quality loss, this recording is equal to a conversion. While recording, you are free to do other things on your computer, because the software focus on only one target software.
Hope it helps.

Use any freeware to do this job would be too much of a hassle, not to mention freeware usually contains ads and cause quality loss.
Here is the tool that can guarantee to convert tho mov files to wav: Joyoshare Audio Recorder. Basically, it records instead of converting, so the success rate is 100%.
