Chaco and lots of mosquitoes.

Ok, so this is the first time i try this so i dont know how its going to be. I thought that maybe i could start posting some travel experiences through the country because most of inat users live in the US and some of you may be interested in the wildlife that we have here in the south that is in many cases very different than the north american wildlife. If this result of interest to some of you i can start doing it at least every month or so.
To start im going to tell you about a trip to the Chaco province in Argentina where i spend the past five days giving lectures about birdwatching and bird conservation in a provincial and a national park to train the park rangers and tourism guides of the area. The areas are called Pampa del Indio provincial park and Chaco national park and are located in the humid chaco area on the center-east of the province.
Its a very rich area for wildlife with many species but like the rest of the chaco region in Argentina, Paraguay and Bolivia its being transformed into soy plantations and the native humid forest is quickly disappearing. The parks where i was working these days are very interesting for wildlife but its the kind of area where you can hear the poachers shots in the distance every day, sadly that is also a common sight in the chaco region.
During the next days i will be uploading lots of pictures that i managed to take during the free time that i had between giving lectures but to name some of the most interesting species i got observations of 180 bird species wich is a new record for me in the chaco region and i also saw some interesting mammals like Black Howler monkeys (Alouatta caraya), Tayra (Eira barbara), Jaguarundi (Puma yagouaroundi) and footprints of south american tapir (Tapirus terrestris), Ocelot (Leopardus pardalis) and Maned Wolf (Chrysocyon brachyurus).
Overall a very good trip and a very interesting area, now its the time to start uploading pictures.
Thanks for reading.
