Join the Klang Valley City Nature Challenge 2019

Hi everyone,

The Klang Valley City Nature Challenge is back again! This year, the dates will be from April 26 to 29. It started off in 2016 as San Francisco vs. Los Angeles, and last year it became an international event with 68 cities all over the globe! You can see who's participating this year & read more about the challenge at the City Nature Challenge website: citynaturechallenge.org

The timeline for the City Nature Challenge is:
April 26-29: Making observations. The project won't accept any observations made before 12:00am on April 26 or made after 11:59pm on April 29.
April 20 – May 5: Getting everything uploaded and identified! As long as the observations were made in the April 26-29 time frame, you can still upload them afterward. Also, the more observations we get identified to species, the higher our species count will be!
May 6: Results announced!

The "big 3" stats that we look at for the City Nature Challenge are (1) number of observations, (2) number of species, and (3) number of people who participated. This year we'll also be putting more emphasis on those numbers with verifiable (not captive/cultivated, and has media) observations.

I'm tagging you in this journal post because you're one of the top observers and/or identifiers in the Klang Valley recently, and we'd love your help with the City Nature Challenge! All observations from the 10 Local Councils (Kuala Lumpur, Klang, Kajang, Subang Jaya, Petaling Jaya, Selayang, Shah Alam, Ampang Jaya, Putrajaya and Sepang) counts! We need you out there making observations, finding species, and helping to ID the observations coming in. There will also be quite a few bioblitz events being held around Klang Valley that weekend, we will be updating them once we have all the confirmed list from our partners . There will also be a ID Parties happening between May 1-5, we'll post once they're scheduled.

Thank you in advance for your help and involvement with the Klang Valley City Nature Challenge 2019! Let’s try to win the CNC 2019!

For your emphasis it would be nice if there's a suggestion list of hotspots to go to. And guides to take identifiable pictures.
