Lepidoptera - classification blues

Lost in a world of taxonomic updates today. There were major papers in December 2011, one revising the whole higher (family level & above) taxonomy of Lepidoptera, and one revising Erebidae - the largest moth family. Have spent some time putting in family corrections, adding subfamilies and tribes for Notodontidae and Nolidae. A long way to go, though.

taxonomy, continued

updating Noctuoidea again - tackling some tough groups in Erebidae, including the Arctiinae (Tiger Moths). Bit of a slog . . .

more taxonomy . . .

Noctuidae, Erebidae, Pyralidae and Crambidae all with subfamilies updated, mostly done to tribal level. Will have to take a break and get on with some proper work for a bit, so not sure when I'll get to update the Geometridae (last of the big three moth superfamilies). Butterflies and hawkmoths also need the higher classification, at family, subfamily and tribe ranks, to be sorted . . .
