Fallen trees are just animal highways
Raccoon is my first choice. Fisher...maybe? Unlikely.
As seen in the picture, there are a few different track. The ones that stood out the best to me were the raccoon tracks! The tracks that I have located were coming from the south end of my families dairy farm compost pile! They were then heading southwest back to the wood line/ firewood shed.
Leading to a large snag, in Schenley Park.
I found these raccoon (procyon lotor) tracks traveling South. It was rainy and about 43 degrees Fahrenheit. The front feet were 2.75in long and 2.75in wide. The hind feet are 4in long and 2.5in wide. The tracks had a stride of 7.5in and a straddle of 2.5in.
My assumption was that these were raccoon tracks, but iNat is suggesting things like fisher and mink...and I don't know enough about tracks to know if that's wrong or right. My hand is included for scale in pic #2.
