The blue-and-gold snapper (Lutjanus viridis) is a species of snapper native to the eastern Pacific Ocean along the coast from Mexico to Ecuador and around offshore islands, including Malpelo, Galapagos, Las Tres Marías (Panama) and Revillagigedo islands., where they tend to be particularly abundant. They usually can be found in large schools around both rocky and coral reefs at depths from 3 to 30 m (9.8 to 98.4 ft), though usually between 9 and 15 m (30 and 49 ft)....
